After Surgery

  • After your surgery, you will be taken to our recovery room and kept under observation by our nurses.  Your discharge will be approved by an anesthesiologist and the nursing staff.  In most cases, you can expect to be discharged within one to three hours following surgery, depending on the type of operation and your surgeon's orders.
  • For 24 hours after surgery, do not drive or operate any machinery, make any important personal or business decisions, or drink alcoholic beverages, unless your physician tells you otherwise.
  • Contact your surgeon immediately if you have:excessive pain, swelling, bleeding, drainage or excessive nausea or vomiting.
